15 Years of Leadership

CJCA organizes and hosts annual meetings to encourage the exchange of knowledge and philosophies at the top administrative levels of juvenile justice and juvenile justice corrections systems. Three annual meetings open to all members of CJCA offer administrators sessions on best practices and evidence-based approaches in the field, the opportunity to share information, a forum to identify issues and to develop strategies to address them and an environment of collaboration and camaraderie that serves to unify the field of juvenile corrections.

CJCA’s national meetings also provide a forum for CJCA’s committees to meet, plan and present their work to the entire organization. In addition to the three annual meetings open to all directors, CJCA organizes an annual peer-led training for new directors and an annual retreat for its Executive Board.

CJCA’s four geographical areas (Northeast, Midwest, South and West) hold regional meetings to give administrators additional opportunities to collaborate with their peers. CJCA staff and members also regularly present at and participate in other conferences held by national organizations as a means to provide education and technical assistance related to improving youth correctional programs and services.
