The Performance-based Standards (PbS) State/Agency Coordinators Training and Awards Night in Chicago, Illinois is now only a few months away. Participants are waiting to see the results of PbS’ annual Kids Got Talent Contest.

PbS challenges facilities and youths to share their talents with the country and invites the winner to come perform live at the Awards Night. We received over 90 great performance submissions, and after careful deliberation 14 finalists were chosen.

Aurora S., Sebastian G. and Terrell A. from Illinois Youth Center – Warrenville worked with Storycatchers Theatre in Chicago, Illinois to put on an original musical production entitled “Monster.” Storycatchers is a youth development arts organization that works with court-involved boys and girls to write about and share stories inspired by their own lives. This play was one of the most original and creative submissions we have gotten for the Kids Got Talent Contest, complete with three acts and a chorus! Our judges loved the message, the production and the storytelling from this group of youths.

Congratulations on becoming finalists, Aurora, Sebastian and Terrell and thank you for sharing your talents!
