Announcing CJCA’s new Executive Director – Michael Dempsey

The Council of Juvenile Correctional Administrators (CJCA) is proud to announce that Michael Dempsey has been selected as CJCA’s new Executive Director.  Mike was voted in unanimously as Executive Director during the CJCA Business Meeting election held on Oct. 6 during the annual CJCA Leadership Institute Meeting held in Chicago.   Mike follows the first Executive Director Edward J. Loughran for CJCA, who founded the national organization of youth correction chief executive officers in 1994.

In memory of CJCA’s founder and first Executive Director, Edward J. “Ned” Loughran

Sadly - Our dear Ned passed away peacefully last night. Ned was alert, communicative, engaged, funny, and totally at peace.  He hugged and kissed everyone and said his goodbyes. Ned has encouraged all of us to continue his legacy of service to children and young adults in the juvenile justice system. He said he is passing the torch to all of us to continue his work.  Please keep his wife Maria and son Sean in your thoughts and prayers.
