CJCA Summer 2018 Meeting

The Council of Juvenile Correctional Administrators (CJCA) Summer Business Meeting was held Aug. 3-5, 2018 at the Hilton Minneapolis with 45 CJCA directors and designees participating.

CJCA’s signature program, the New Directors Seminar was held immediately preceding the meeting on Aug. 3-5 and was attended by seven new directors including Tracy Dompeling, AK; Chuck Supple, CA; Cathy Foley-Geib, CT; John Stevenson, DE; Trevor Spiegel, NE; John Munoz, Nevada and Joseph O’Leary, OR. Evaluations from the training have been very positive and indicated this continues to be a very valuable training for directors.

Fifty juvenile justice leaders from 32 states convened earlier this month for the Performance-based Standards (PbS) annual Agency Coordinators Training in Minneapolis. This year’s theme was Daring Greatly, to recognize the coordinators and leaders who continually rise to the challenges that face their agencies and to provide a network and resources to help them along the way.
